Toolbar and Multiple Browswers

Do I have to download and Install multiple times?

I have the toolbar installed on my computer. It works just fine in IE6 for Win XP Pro.

I recently installed Mozilla and like it alot. But the Google toolbar isn't up.

Do I need to download and install it again for Mozilla? Or is there a way to make the version currently working on my IE6 Broswer to work in Mozilla?

Thanks.

Jim

Actually I think it's IE only?

On the toolbar download page it lists system requirements as Windows and IE 5.0 plus.

No other browsers mentioned.

Darn, you're right. Just checked the system requirements at Google.

Come one Google! Get your great toolbar working with other browsers!

There is an open source clone of the Google Toolbar available which is designed for Mozilla. It is at [googlebar.mozdev.org ].

Alternatively, you could try the Avant browser, which is fast, has tabs and mouse gestures, and works (most of the times) with the Google toolbar, including PR display. It's by far the best browser of all the ones I have tried.

Has anyone tweaked the toolbar for Opera? I only use IE for the toolbar and then mostly for the PR display and one click backlinks.

or has anyone seen it tweaked for the Mac OS? It's really annoying to have to fire up VPC just to check pagerank.

hello. i've been giving slimbrowser [flashpeak.com] a go and i find it performs brilliantly. the google toolbar and all it's features work without a hitch so far. the browser itself is so customisable, i can hardly believe ie isn't doesn't yet feature tabs! seems the "avant" might be worth a look as well. i found mozilla/fox rather pedestrian with its pre windows 3.1/aol 4.0 gui.

cheers!

I'm also interested on that... I've written an email to toolbar-support@google.com and i've got this on the email...

Thank you for your kind words and thoughtful feedback. We decided to first
release the Google Toolbar for Microsoft Internet Explorer. We are
examining the feasibility of offering a toolbar that is compatible with
other browsers such as Opera; however, this version is currently
unavailable. We apologize for this inconvenience and will keep your
feedback in mind for future versions of the Toolbar.

In the easy way, no we don't give you our precious toolbar to your alternative browser... :(

The Googlebar for Firefox works nicely, but I don't see the PR display - is it a setting that needs to be activated, or is it not available for the the Mozilla version?

For pagerank plugin (for Firefox and Mozilla), see:
http:**pagerankstatus.mozdev.org/
(replace the ** with // and you're all set)

I use the Google toolbar with Firefox and it works quite well. Some sites it only shows the PR of the index page. Anybody else experience this? I was going to reinstall it and see if that solves the problem.

That's kind of buggy. Try, going from a PR10 site (Google) to an unranked page. The unraked page will be PR10 (at least for me).

Maybe I'll try that with my new site and then take a screenshot ;)
