MSN Toolbar - Friend or Foe?

Not sure if this is a threat to Google's Toolbar or not?!?

I recently saw the beta version of MSN Toolbar and I have to say, it's nearly identical to the Google Toolbar and my concern is if this is MSN's goal to corner the Search Engine Market, do you think this is the early sign?

I am not very happy with MSN because they clearly have a different view then Google and company! and it was interesting to note that during the installation, a pop up message came and asked if I like to keep MSN Search as the default search engine for all my searches. If MSN toolbar makes its way into the next Windows Version, could this be Microsofts way of monopolizing all 'Search Results'!? As it did with IE vs. Netscape.

Just my observation. Please comment.

I'm not an authority on this topic but doesn't Microsoft already try to monopolize your search results. As I remember when you install Windows, MSN search is the default engine already for the address bar, and msn.com your homepage. Whichever products you use from Microsoft you're sure to have them trailing you every which way you go and bombarding you with everything they can. Wouldn't you if this was your company (Self-promotion) :)

By the way.. I think when you install the Google toolbar, it also asks you if you want Google to be your default search.

And yes.. I agree too that the MSN toolbar sort of looks similar. Even their download page is set up in the same manner.
