PR but no backlinks

How can i have a PR on a page with have no backlinks?

You wont see backlinks if the sites that link to you are lower than a certain PR. Generally a new site will get a small amount of PR once it gets over a certain level you can see the sites that are recognized under backlinks.

Strange, on other websites I see backlinks that have a PR of 1 or so or even if they have no PR, this page of mine has a PR of 3 now and i can't find any backlinks in Google at this time. Strange... what does this mean? are there so much pages linking to me with less than PR 1? so that i can have a PR of 3?

gerwin, G's link: tool generally only shows backlinks with a PR of 4 or higher (although sometimes PR3 are shown). So, you likely have some PR3 and lower links, thus giving you your PR3.

You can use AlltheWeb's link: tool to see exactly what pages are linking to you since ATW shows all pages, not just PR4+.

Keep in mind that even if Google doesnt show back links below PR4/PR3, you still are getting the benefit from them. A link is like a Vote and every vote irrespctive of how PRRICH that website is (PR0/1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10) is, you would get the benefit.

That is why it is always recommended to people who buy PR, to not to go out in marketplaces to buy PR but to get High Quality Links. A link that is PR0 today might be PR6 tomorrow and you could get a PR0 easily. However, a PR6 that you might get with a bit of effort, bight become PR0 tomorrow and then worthless in terms of time and effort you did to get that link.

Links are not everything. High Rankings is a nice Blend of couple of things together know as Optimization.

I find toolbar reporting PR0 lot of times in the last 2-3 days. Anybody else felt that or it's just some issues with my machine?
