google keywords and domain name

Hi guys!
I'm a begginer and i'd like to ask you few questions.

If i want to be found on google by the keyword "discount hotel" and my domain name is www.discounthotel.com does it make any difference if it will be www.discount-hotel.com.
What i mean is google does make a difference between "discounthotel" one word and "discount-hotel" when
those words are in the domain name?

Any help it will be greatly appreciated.

It does does make a difference. Google handles discounthotel as a single word.

The links and the Link text that points to your pages are what realy count. There has been much talk about it but I belive Google doesn't dirrecty award you more relavance to "discount hotel" based on the name of your doman.

The reason why keywords in your domain name DO indirectly count is other pages (your own and from outside link to you wih THE words "discount hotel" and so Google thinks that you are the discount hotel man...

But here Links to "discounthotel.com" will not hep you reach top ranking as good as if people link to "discount-hotel.com" - see here GoogleBot will see 3 words [discount hotel com] and the 2 first are the ones you are targetng! so USE the [keyword-keyword.com] if you can!
