My site is still listed in the appropriate Google Directory category, and the accompanying pagerank graph looks correct. The only glitch is the greyed-out "Category" button in the Google toolbar--which affects my pages but not other sites.
Is this a matter of concern? Does anyone have any idea of how it might have happened? (It isn't a big deal to me, since I don't especially need to have readers click through to a list of my competitors, but the greyed-out toolbar button does seem a bit odd.)
The ODP changed my URL and annotation from the old About.com address a while ago. The change was reflected in the Google directory.
Then, at some point in February or March, the ODP reverted to the old About.com address due to a technical glitch that reportedly wiped out six weeks' worth of edits.
I e-mailed the category's editor at the ODP, who reinstated the correct (new) link in early April, but Google's directory must have have used the outdated ODP data when it uupdated the directory this month.
So now we've got a new Google update displaying old ODP data, instead of an old Google update displaying new ODP data. :-)
