PR Google Directory vs Google Toolbar

Is everybody's different or is it just me...?

Hi,

Just curious about something. In the Google Directory the green line (PR rank?) next to my site name is much higher than the PR I get looking at my site in Google Tooblar. Are these two things related, or are they supposed to be? If not, what is the Google Directory line for? Hope I'm making some sense... ;) Thanks!

My guess is that the PR in the Directory is more recent or up-to-date than the toolbar PR.

I have a toolbar PR=0 site that is 4 weeks old that has several PR4 backlinks. I just made it into DMOZ in time for the Google Directory update. It is showing approx a PR2 in the directory - so assume that when/if toolbar PR is updated, the site will show a 2

Hi,

may be old news, but I just had the idea to check the HTML source of a Google directory page for the source of the toolbar picture and found the following:

<tr valign=top><td width=6%>&nbsp;<nobr><a href="h*tp://www.google.com/intl/en/dirhelp.html#pagerank"><img src="/img/pos.gif" width=22, height=4 align=absmiddle border=0 ALT=""><img src="/img/neg.gif" width=18 height=4 align=absmiddle border=0 ALT=""></a></nobr></td>

Thus, the pagerank indicator is just made up of "pos.gif" and "neg.gif", the size of the green part being the width of "pos.gif".
So, can I then assume that the page rank for my site curently is roughly equivalent to 22/40 =5.5?
