New google toolbar has disapeared!

even a reinstall will not show the bar.

One day I noticed the bar was no longer showing and no uninstall was performed.

This never happened witht he old bar btw.

Any clues?

Perhaps this might work. You can add and hide things from your IE toolbar, and it's easy to accidentally hide things:

Right click your toolbar area, then choose the selection called "Google." Your toolbar should reappear.

Good suggestion, I don't believe I've done that unless accidently. What I did though was disabled in Internet options/advance 'do not search from the address bar'

I know this response is late, I just saw this query. The reason your googlebar disappeared is prolly because you have to turn on the option "ENABLE 3rd party EXTENSIONS" under your Internet Explorer options area.

I had my toolbar disappear and that was the culprit.

To check this go to

TOOLS ==> Internet Options ==> Advanced ==>

... then in this area make sure the checkbox next to

"Enable Third Party Browser Extensions (requires restart)"

Is checked. Then restart your 'puter and the Googlebar should be up there again (assuming you haven't since uninstalled it when you found it wasn't working)

This happened to me recently too.

I don't know exactly when, I don't use IE much. I did just install the big critical update bundle.

In my case, that 3rd party option IS checked and I don't have the toolbar.

Google is listed when I right click on the toolbar area and it is checked.
