Can anyone tell me how to clear the history in the toolbar and what is it's file name incase I really want to zap the contents permanently?

Sorry for such a basic question in such illustrious company!

Regards

John

At the extreme left of the toolbar there is a drop down menu labelled "Google", click on it and select "Clear Search History".

Sorry, no idea where the file is stored.

<Added>On same drop down menu click on "Toolbar Options ...", under search box you get to select or not "Keep a search history in a drop-down list under the search box". Deselecting it should stop recording your history.</Added>

History is stored in the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\NavClient\[version #]\History
