In some instances i have experianced bot traffic soon after visiting page with toolbar

This could show that having the toolbar sends URL to bot to spider, or it could be a conicidnce.

I have a hunch that the googlebot is usually quite busy, and i would imagine it doesnt spend a lot of time sitting around waiting for a URL from the toolbar to come in to go look at.

I also will be the first to admit that when i go and look at my sites i hit the happy face vote button in hopes that i am getting my site attention by the googlebot.

I would be interested to know if someone has hard evidence (GoogleGuy chime in please) that the toolbar does add to the list of URLs to be spidered.

Build a good site, get some back links, the bot will come. I think that is the only "proven" way to get the bot to come a crawling!

Well, you can almost get the same results with the Grub.org spider. You install this service (distributed computing like SETI) and it runs on your pc in the background and basically crawls the web and submits its data back to grub. But you can also specify where you want it to start and it will do a local crawl and submit the info to LookSmart (who owns grub.org).

Look at this thread [webmasterworld.com], in particular to GoogleGuy's and Brett's comments.

will adsense help your site get spidered or affect it's rankings?

will Google be introducing new ALGORITHMS and UPDATING policies next week?
