Google 2.0 Toolbar Bug?

Directed to a specific site

I performed a two-word search in the Google 2.0 toolbar and was taken directly to a web site -- not Google's results page. Can anyone explain this?

I know one can purchase keywords that when typed in the IE address bar will take the searcher to a designated site. I didn't think this was possible using the Google toolbar. So far it has only happened with this one specifc phrase (and it happens repeatedly).

Sounds like you used the "I'm feeling lucky" search instead. Were you holding down alt when you searched? That normally activates it.

Astinus:

No it is not the "I'm Feelin Lucky" button. I have determined that it happens when I use either the 2.0 toolbar on my browser or the search box on www.google.com.

As I mentioned in the first post, it is only for one (so far) specific two-word term and it happens every time I try it. I sticky mailed you the keyword term and resulting web site. Does it do it for you?

Thank You. It turns out you are right. I downloaded an anti-spyware program and found to my horror that there were numerous unwanted spyware files on my hard drive. I removed them all and now the problem has been solved.
