Google Maps Now Incompat with Opera and Safari?

Hmmm Google maps no longer loads in Opera or Safari on 3 different machines. Loads on IE and Firefox. It was working earlier today in Safari and Opera.

I seem to recall some bragadocious chest beating about loading billions of pages into Google Browser to test them. Maybe they should try loading 1 page from their own site first!?.

The one service outside of search they actually have worth using (until today - better than search imho) and they mess with core funtionality. Maps was the only service saving them from going down in history as a one hit wonder.

What Version of Opera and Safari do you have? Its seems to be working fine on my Vista and XP machine for Opera 9.5, Opera 9.6 and Safarai 3.1.

Unless the google datacentre showing up is an older one.

I used to have that problem with certain custom builds of firefox.
There is a url option you can add that will force it into compatibility mode, which unfortunately I cannot easily find right now.

You sure your firewall isn't blocking something important to all three machines?

well i've had problems printing google maps with opera for ages, although the maps are loading here on win xp/opera 9.52

It is confirmed for me on several different machines on 3 different isps. Nothing but a blank spot where the map should go. Works ok in IE.

Probably going with the same code base from google docs where it works in ie and pathetically slow in ff/moz. Compatability is/was always an afterthought with Google.

Broken for me in Opera 9.25/win32. Gets stuck on "loading"

Having issues with G calendar too.

I do my son's football team website and I used Google Calendar and the event pop-ups don't fit in the screen. Not working nice with Safari on a Mac at all.

No, google docs/gmail has mostly never worked in Opera.

Works fine for me on Opera 9.52/Safari 3.1.2/Chrome 0.2.149.29 on WinXP SP3

On the XPSP3 machine I use for testing the search string you show in your screenshot works in Firefox 3.0.3, Chrome 0.3.154.0, Opera 9.52, Opera 9.60, Safari 3.1.2 (and IE7 too).

All the browser installations and the OS on that machine use pretty close to default settings, no extras. I surf from a Swedish IP.

Skype knocks out my Google Maps on variously Firefox or Safari, kill it using Task Manager and your maps may come back.

Doesn't work for me in Opera 9.10. I only get about half the map and no markers.

I'm also having problems with Google maps on all browsers. Our web site has some google maps with extra controls. These no longer work. Iv'e contacted the people I brought the tutorial off (I used to code our maps) and their maps don't work either.

I think Google are playing with the API.
