My Google Toolbar has gone!

Is this just me?

Today my toolbar is no longer on the browser! Has this happened to anyone else or is it just me? I didn't download the recent new version of the toolbar, could this be a method to make me get it?

I still have it. I havent closed out my browser window all weekend however.

I re-installed. Got a Google message 'you already have the toolbar...' - then the bar reappeard.

- Why did it disappear?
- Could this be a setting to get me to install the latest version?

I'm a bit paranoid about what the toolbar does (could do) with info about the sites I view / the keywords I check. A while ago I posted here about different SERPS for my pc with a toolbar and for my other pc without a toolbar. The toolbar would be a great way for Google to detect SEOs. SEOs must be a major sector of those using the toolbar, who else cares about PR?

Is it possible you just turned it off? If you right click on the menus you can turn off the bars.

Yes its possible. I guess I'll never know. At least I don't see much on WMW about 'toolbar paranoia' so its probably just me.
