What does google do with their data?

Hello All

I just have a question about the google toolbar. Is it likely google will use the data they collect from users of the toolbar to downgrade their listings?

I mean, if they know my IP, the search terms I repeatedly search for and the web site I most often click on, then they know my full agenda.

Too late Web_Gorilla!

and welcome to these forums..(family of the moderator?);)

Why register data and not use it?

I doubt they would ever go that far in downgrading your listings, though I often think in the same big conspiracy manner as you.

It is natural for everyone to check if their own farm is still alive and kicking in the Google rankings. All webmasters would be downgraded in that case.

That is, stay away from using rankchecking programs very frequently. In the past it is said Google blocked your IP from accessing the Google search machine for a while when using these programs. The ultimate penalty: being penalised for looking if you have a penalised toolbar penalty.
