About two months ago I submitted a new site to Google.
I notice a couple of days ago that it has a toolbar ranking of 4 but is not yet in Google search engine.

I also had the same website as a subdirectory under another domain and this is in Google search engine.

Do I have to remove this subdomain before Google will pick up th new domain?
I am concerned about loosing the traffic from the subdomain so is it possible to simply redirect traffic to the new domain without being also penalised.
Thanks
David

Hi david27 and welcome to WebmasterWorld.

The toolbar PR does not really say anything. If a site is not in the index, the toolbar just makes an estimate of the PR.

I would advise to remove the subdomain, as Google might see this as duplicate content.

Thanks Sinner for the welcome - I really appreciate the help.

Can I do a site closed 303 message and then direct all Google traffic to my new domain without any penalty?
If so I would love to know how to, using html and ftp.

Cheers
David
