I'd really like to see the Pagerank of various sites I visit but I don't want the Google toolbar as I've read it has some components of spyware (according to google-watch.org). Do I have any other options?

There are no other options.

Take a look at the following thread: [webmasterworld.com...]

and then please go ahead and download the toolbar. If you are serious about SEM, the toolbar is a MUST.

For starters: Google-Watch.org is a bunch of paranoid hooey. (That said, he's not entirely wrong but for the time being, there's nothing to worry about)

Secondly: You have the other option of going to the Google Directory (http://directory.google.com/) and seeing if that site is listed. If it is, it will show the pagerank to the left (nicely in comparison to everyone else in that same category). Downside however is that not all sites are in the directory, and always going to Google may distract from your casual browsing.

Sounds like I'll grab the toolbar.... Out of curiosity, is your privacy in jeopardy at all when using a browser without the toolbar?
