Pagerank of Framed Pages?

How do you guys determine the pagerank of a page when in frames? As I navigate the site, it's always "http://www.mysite.com" with a pagerank of 5, so I don't know what other pages are actually at?

Thanks.

Can't you open the links in a new window? Or look at the source and just type the framed page URL in the address bar?

I will try that, thanks :) I'm not too familiar with how frames work, never used it before.

old thread i know but i jut wanted to show my frustration (myself to blame) for working hard at getting a link in a page which i thought was PR8, i stupidly didn't realise the pages were framed, and the actual page i got my link in was only a PR4!
Damned frames!

It's a good question though leoo24.

Just a thought... are you sure that was even a real PR4 and not an assumed PR value?

I would think.. and I am going off the cuff here... that unless the framed page was reachable by the SEs somewhere OUTSIDE the frame... then that page would remain basically invisible to the search engine and probably have no PR at all?

Assuming the site is a basic framed site... say a left 'parent' frame with logo and nav and all content in pages in the right 'child' frame... isn't the problem with framed sites and search engines largely that search engines can't get to that right frame content?

If there's an alternative navigation system, say a non-framed sitemap leading to the unframed child pages, then they should have some PR value, but otherwise?

<add> good grief... there goes a week's worth of question marks in one post </add>

heya deejay,
after your comments i searched in the google dir and couldnt find it to see it's actual pr, i got the pr4 value by opening the page ,with my link in, in a new window, the site does have a site map, but it's also framed.
It's the typical framed page, being a parent nav at the top.
The page does show up in a google search out of it's frame but it has a grey bar!
So i fear deejay you are completely correct and my time spent in getting this link has been wasted.
