Vote For/Against Feature

How many of us use it?

OK, let's see a show of hands...how many people use the "Vote For/Against this Page" feature on the toolbar?

1.) I use it regularly.

2.) I've used it a few times.

3.) What's the "For/Against" feature?

Me personally, I'm a #2.

And, of course I've never, EVER voted for any of my own pages. :)

Never used it. I believe that it is part of the "cool" image, the results are stored in /dev/null.

I used it when I first found it. I admit I am easily amused and I really enjoy the simple things, like clicking on a frowny face when I reach a crummy site.

Stopped using it though, and even took 'em off of the toolbar because they were cluttering up my window.

Google seems to have quite a sense of humour - the same team that are in fits of laughter at WW pre-update probably amuse themselves for the rest of the month at how many people are clicking the smiley face today! ;)

How many people accidently use it. I had to turn it off. I was giving sad faces to sites when I was copying and pasting urls. sorry Brett. Its off now. :)

When it was in beta - I went to google.com and voted twice (to see if it let me).

I haven't used it since.

I would love to see the data google has from this.

I can imagine the people going through the SERPs for their terms:

1) Not Mine - Unhappy Face - Report as Spam
2) Not Mine - Unhappy Face - Report as Spam
3) Not Mine - Unhappy Face - Report as Spam
4) Mine - Happy Face

As of right now - I doubt it is that useful to google for anything other than study. as time progress - and if they come out with custom SERPS - it could be very valuable. Although I kind of think a scale from 1 - 10 would be better.

As someone who is interested in effects of optimism and pessimism, I'd be really interested in the overall numbers of smileys and frowns they get on given days - and how they correlate to different world events. Would make for an interesting study...

I can only imagine what the figures looked like during the last few dances! :)

I have used it a couple of times. Honestly, I clicked on it once for one of our sites when the bar first came out. I actually like my sites, so I do not believe it was spamming. Google may disagree. The rankings for the site I clicked :) for actually fell off the SERP's in September's dance. Improved slightly last month, and hope Google will forgive me for whatever I have done at this month's dance.

What would the international use of the Google toolbar be in percentage of Google users?

What percentage of that would choose to install the vote buttons?

What percentage of that would regularily use it?

What percentage of that would be objective?

i think it's a given that positive votes would eminate from the owner/seo of a site, therefore google collates all positive votes and flags the sites as being possibly operated by seo's

I tried it but noticed that while I had those two little buttons on the toolbar, the mouseover on the pagerank bar didn't work. So I chucked them out...and the mouseover was OK again.
But even if I hadn't had any problems I wouldn't use it anyway. I really don't know what happens when I vote for or against a page, plus I just don't have the time.
