Google Launches Enhanced Desktop Software

Google is releasing a new piece of software that could challenge both Microsoft and Yahoo, on various levels.
The free program, known as Sidebar, presents consumers with a pane of customized information -- such as weather forecasts, stock quotes, news headlines, text feeds from favorite Web sites, photo slideshows and email alerts -- that sits alongside whatever else the user is viewing. It provides some functions similar to Yahoo's popular MyYahoo customized Web-page service.

Just tried to type in a note for tomorrow and it won't show any keystrokes.

That's why it's BETA I guess.

Google Desktop automatically indexes these types of items on your computer when it starts up for the first time:

What software do those items go with?

They haven't figured out how to work with NOD32 yet so although I was somewhat tempted, I couldn't install it if I wanted to.

Keep getting an error for the Adsense Status. Adsense Status was unable to connect to the Google Adsense server. Please check your connection and select the Reload Now menu option.

I have Widows XP SP2 installed, do I need to do anything to make it work(I already plugged in my log in info)?

Yeah, neither the AdSense sidebar plugin AND (not by Google) nor the AdSense Firefox extension are working for me anymore. They did work earlier. Weird. Maybe the AdSense folks blocked 'em? :D

Well after having it for a short while this one is a winner! Lots of cool plugins (love the adsense plugin) with no doubt many more on the way. Nice interface. I like it a lot....

I don't think this is such a far fetched thought to provoke.

There is value in associating internet usage with information noted.

At least I see it that way.
