Changing link in G+ post

if, for example, a post has 500 +1's

As we all know, +1's are a huge ranking factor nowadays.
Do you guys have experience what might happen if you change a link in a G+ post with lots of +1's?
I wonder if the juice will be reassigned to the new link and what effect it will have on the ranking of the new link.

Thoughts?

That's a myth... +1s are worthless for ranks.

This was the research Matt Cutts refers to. (Google Plus offers a dofollow links) the +1s are clearly not able to provide any value.
