Froogle Feeds

What's the best approach to start feeds?

Hi!

I have Froogle feeds setup for now. But there are so many engines who spring-up everyday and we feel like feeding them.

What in your opinion is the best strategy to keep-up with the feeds? I am thinking of automizing feeds using a script I just thought of asking your advice.

Just digging through older posts and I noticed that no one answered this. Are you talking about providing your feeds to a wider set of search engines, now that your feed to Froogle is set up?

I am only concerned for Froogle at this point.

Do I have to optimize the product pages to get a better listing? The pages are nice, I bet.

Froogle is a work in progress.

I have seen that optimizing the title and description in the feed will get you further than optimizing the page the feed leads to.

If you're submitting a Froogle feed, all you need for optimization is to have meaningful titles and descriptions.

I use a script that automatically extracts all the products from my database, generates the feed file, and uploads it. I haven't tried Yahoo, but I noticed that it uses a similar (or identical) format, so it shouldn't be too hard to support multiple engines.

I dont know if they have a feeds program like Froogle.

I'd like to try that one too. please let me know what is it.

Also, I got an e-mail from Froogle people saying "Please keep the titles and everything else the same as they are on the actual page" I doubt I can get around with the "changing the titles in the feeds" thing.

I meant optimize the title and description in the feed and on the actual site - they do have to match.

I have a feed to froogle. One thing I noticed, is that somehow a few items slipped in that weren't in the feed. Note however, that these items are actually services offered by my site for a fee, coupled with the associated image file. I'm quite pleased with this as I originally thought I could only include the physical projects in the feed. Any idea if this was done manually by froogle staff, or if it was spidered to enhance my feed? when i submit my update, should I include the service/picture combinations, in addition to the product/picture combos?

coolasafanman, it's unlikely that items not in your feed were added to Froogle manually or are included to enhance your feed. They're just the result of spidering and are there independent of your feed. It's often possible to have the same product listed twice, but the feed result will rank quite a bit higher and will be more accurate.
