However, if I do a search for "Acme Widget Model XYZ" on Google, I see all sorts of results in the Google Product links, as well as in the Google Checkout links. If I do a search for "Accessory For Acme Widget Model XYZ," I likewise find tons of results.
But when I try to add this accessory in Google Base, I get a message saying that it is a violation of Google Base's editorial policy. The word "widget" is disapproved. Also, the brand name "Acme" is disapproved, as it's a well-known widget brand name. Even the link to the accessory page on my site is disapproved, because the words "widget" and "Acme" are found on that page.
I don't get it. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or are the owners of the other sites finding backdoor ways to get their widget listings into Google Base?
