Google says Froogle is not theirs! What gives?

Is Froogle Malware?

I have just found "Froogle" as an added item on my Google search page. I emailed Google as below and got this response (my email to them is at the end):

<snip> no emails thanks, please see terms of service [webmasterworld.com] </snip>

Please advise what is going on as if this is a Google enhancement its not a good one!

The Froogle search tab has been displyed on the Google home page for the better part of a year now.

Ok so we don't like e-mail text - it was only there as evidence of what Google advised me.

Also Froogle has never an option on my Google web page until this last week or so and why would anyone appreciate the first search page always having nonsense search results and alway shown as being Page 1-10 of 75,000,000.?

Regardless of what may or may not be be the case, why does Google's e-mail say its malware?.

Also I have checked with local PC shops and they do not have Froogle as an option on their Google webpages.

Something here is not right.

Google could be saying what you are seeing is a result of spyware, adware, browser hijackers in your computer that is posing as Froogle.

I've seen the Froogle link on Google's home page for over a year now. Froogle results also seem to be appearing in more natural search results.

Tried Ad-aware, Spybot, Spy Sweeper, Pest Patrol - also use Zone Alarm and AVG antivirus...Nothing picks up any spy or hijacker... What now?
