Google has said it'll test a new Follow button in Chrome for some Android users, with the updates for followed sites appearing in a new Following section.

Our goal for this feature is to allow people to follow the websites they care about, from the large publishers to the small neighborhood blogs, by tapping a Follow button in Chrome. When websites publish content, users can see updates from sites they have followed in a new Following section on the New Tab page

Interestingly, it suggests sites keep the RSS feed up-to-date.

Hello,

Yes, basically, it is RSS with a Google Chrome UI.

You will see that Google will claim it invented RSS, and aggregator :)... and progressively, Google will figure a way to run Google News through the RSS aggregator in a decentralized way, to by pass local laws, and avoid having to pay news publishers.
