Google Chrome to Badge Site Speeds

Google has said Chrome will "badge" sites for speed, and will indicate sites which have slow latencies. That latency aspect indicates more to me that just speed of the site. However, back to what Google is saying.

Our early explorations will look at a number of Chrome surfaces, including the loading screen (splash screen), loading progress bar and context-menu for links. The latter could enable insight into typical site speeds so you’re aware before you navigate.


No dates are given for the commencement, but, I suspect it's already being tested.

Not a bad idea IMO. Some sites are slower than others!
