Hi so I noticed whenever I download or save an image file while browsing a website on Chrome browser for the mac, the image file saves OK but has all kinds of information like "Where from" xattr data etc.

Is there anyway to disable this data written via Chrome onto the image file? Some chrome settings?

If not, one data is metadata which is easily removed on a mac, how do I remove this xattr data on my mac? Is there a simple utility for mac that removes both metadata and xattr data from an image file? Thanks in advance!

I don't know, but you an right click on an image, use "copy image", then paste it into your image processing software and save from it.

I use a graphic program that strips all "not image" data from the file (EXIF, IPTC, and supress the JFIF headers as well). G's stealth tracking is a bit obnoxious.

YMMV.

That said, I DO NOT EVER USE images on my site that are copyrighted (without permission). Therefore, again ...

YMMV.
