Just watched two of my desktop devices update to Chrome 64.
Google Chrome is up to date
Version 64.0.3282.140 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Mine is updating as type. Is the ad-blocking there yet?

I tried it out on one very ad heavy page (stickies, exit ads, high density) and there was no impact.

Chrome will remove all ads from sites that have a “failing” status in the Ad Experience Report for more than 30 days.
Since this report is not completed yet (for most sites) we likely won't see ads actually blocked until the 2nd or 3rd week in March... and probably much later.

Here we go...

Chrome 64 is now asking me if I want to block ads on a few sites I am visiting. These sites are not particularly *spammy* in the way they are using ads IMO.

I am also being asked if I want to use the adblocker on YouTube videos, for some videos displaying ads.

So far the ads look like normal Adsense ads of various sizes on the web pages. Small banner ads on the YouTube videos.

This is not happening on any of my pages so either I am not abusing the threshold, or Chrome recognizes my account.

I suspect there will be a gentle roll out of this feature over the next few months until the user base is saturated. Then it will be turned on and a few folks will wonder what the heck happened.

About the ad blocking feature, one month and a half later, I see no difference. I still see all kind of sites (big, average or small), with lot of very intrusive ads.

Also, my own sites are still marked as unreviewed in the Google Search Console, so it might still be a work in progress.
