Logged in to Google Adwords today and for the first time it suggested setting my daily budget at £90.00 to maximise my number of clicks.

I currently spend around 25p per click and only ever spend a maximum of £15 a day (although my budgeted maximum is £30 a day). Now, why would I get more clicks for specifying a budget of £90 when I only use half of my budgeted amount anyway?
Does Google give any preferance to those who are willing to spend a little bit more otherwise what use would setting my budget higher be? I'd still be getting £15 worth of clicks on a £90 budget surely?

Cheers all

Chris

You are right imho. They want us to raise our limits now as we know it will not cost us more now and thus it is an easy sell.

The fact it will cost us more in the future, generates more revenue for them long term and helps maintain their current finance projections is either coincidence or just best capitalist practice. I don’t know ;)

For the record, I have no complaints as they remain the best of the bunch.

Chris - that's just an estimate. Changing it to $90 will not affect your campaign in any way.

In my experience, this is not always true.

If you work in a field where there are lots of searches related to your ads then setting a high daily budget will increase the number of times Google shows your ad, and thus you will get more clicks.
