Hi there,
I've been reading this forum for about 3 months and most of the time I could get great answers for anything troubling me. I have a question which relates to handling an Adwords account:
I was asked by one of my colleagues to prepare a daily report which will detail my actions (increasing bids, adding keywords etc.), but I'm not sure how such a report is necessary.
I can fairly say that there isn't any hidden magic to Adwords – I'm well aware of using typos, using keywords that target event-oriented traffic (such as "Widget Expo"), creating and testing ads and so on. I personally manage this account and I'm familiar with the industry I'm dealing with so I see little sense in creating reports that perhaps would go 'too deep', but it's reasonable that at the age of 21 I don't know it all.
On the other hand, I don't run hundreds of keywords at the time being, no more than 100 per group.
So, to conclude, do you feel that such reports are useful for my colleagues and I? If so, what fields would have great impotency?

It does seem a bit excessive, but if people need a brief report you could say something like 'raised bids on xyz keywords to x amount' and added xyz keywords.

Not going to debate the need for a report, there are many possible good and negative reasons.

However, if you decide to create such a report, you might want to structure it off the change history (under tools) so you don't have to keep track the actions during the day.

i agree with ewhisper,

the easiest way would be to use the my change history. everything it detailed in there.

I think its a good idea. I have thousands of keywords and make many changes but it's hard to keep track of them all. In fact, I'm trying to find a software programme that can help me keep track of the effects of my changes. Any suggestions anyone? Would be most appreciated.

even i would suggest you to do so if you can. I dont keep any such record but then always feel like. but at times even that may not help, in finding the exact cause for increase/decrease in revenues.
