Conversion tracking image

Shouldn't I see it?

I'm trying to set up conversion tracking for a small subset of ads, just to get my feet wet with it. Just see what it looked like, I took an empty HTML template, stuck the javascript code between the body tags, and I see nothing. Nada. Zip.

What do I have to do to get the Google Site stats text to show? I'm afraid if I'm not seeing that text, then I'm wasting my time since it doesn't appear to be working.

Yes, I have javascript running and I didn't modify the Google javascript in any way.

In order for you, or any user of your site, to see the Google conversion tracking image, you must have first clicked on an AdWords ad for your account. Without the cookie in your browser from the AdWords click, you won't see the image.
