Anyone else with a Negative 'Accelerated' experience?

So about a month ago when Google added options to ad frequency (accelerated/standard). I switched over to accelerated for most of my campaigns.

The way I saw it standard was the same old pacing method, where accelerated would show my ads every single time someone searched. As I was not using my full budget (and I would like to), I thought accelerated was a new answer to prayer! :)

Anyhow, I have not really been into my accounts since then. I logged in today hoping to see great things - and was terribly diappointed :{

The campaigns I had left at standard showed the normal use/position/clicks/spend etc. However all of the accelerated campaigns (majority of my account, as about 80% had been switched) had seen a major drop. Impressions show a major spike downward, and as such so do my clicks/cost. Position stayed the same, CTR is actually up a bit...

Anyhow, I am terribly disappointed. Looking at my site stats, my visits are down terribly over these last few weeks :{

Anyone with similar experiences? Did I assume wrong in how this option worked?

Welcome, JReike. I can't speak to why your 'accelerated' campaigns have seen a drop (that shouldn't theoretically happen) but, yes, it does work a bit differently than you've assumed...

This feature has an influence only if your budget is below what Google estimates. If you have no budget constraints and are looking for as much traffic as possible, these options won't affect your volume. As it has no impact on Quality Score, you wouldn't get more impressions as a result...
