How can I 'remedy' my Adwords account?

Well it all started one month ago.

I ran a couple of test campaigns for my new endeavor, they did not perform that well (my guess is based on low CTR).

Now that I want to design a new campaign for the exactly same keywords, Adwords is asking a Min Bid of $1.00.

one month ago MinBid was 0.10!

What do you think I should do?

Could it be because my Adwords account has been idle for a long time? (I haven’t been using it for the past 2 years)

Could it be because my 4 years ago and now businesses are drastically different?

Could it be that because my one month ago campaign did not attract a high CTR, now my Adwords account does not trust me anymore?

The last month was a pretty crazy one at adwords. Ridiculous min click prices popping up everywhere.

Are you using different types of keyword matching ie. broad, phrase & exact. Are you separating similar keywords into themes in adgroups with well targetted adcopy. Google likes to see the keywords in your adcopy and landing pages.

Yes I agree with him. AdWords after a bad CTR Seriously watch and considers all aspects such as keyword visibility on landing page of PPC campiagn and also in the ad copy.

The basic concept is CTR the campaign has shown a bad result as far as clicks are concerned

Try bidding high for few days and dont keep your keywords on so many matches for few days and you will see changes.

thanks guys for your comments.

chief72,

yes actually, i have used broad and exact, havent experimented with 'phrase' because i thought since its a single term KW, it would be the same as broad. and i have grouped them.

karamkshetra,

thats my feeling too about CTR. I have tried, for example, exact match only, but still the min bids are drastically different from last month. it would be quite a gamble to pay $1.00 for what is 'maybe' worth 7 cents.

I am thinking maybe i should just close my Adwords account, and start fresh, what do you think?
