Now Need to Scroll to See AdGroup Report Page

Is the addition of Video Ad option to blame?

I know I'm a little old-school with a laptop monitor set to 1024 resolution, but I guess there are many people with a similar setting and similar problem:

With the 1024 resolution I'm not able to see the entire reporting page of a keyword targeted AdGroup. I need to scroll right to see the last two columns (Cost and Avg. Pos). I believe the reason for this is the addition last week of the Video Ad option in the Create New Ad area to the right of the ad (next to Local Business Ad).

Anyone else experiencing this?

Have you thought about changing the size of the text?

Could do that but in the past it always worked fine in medium text, which is what I have as my browser's setting.

When I'm on my mini-laptop, I uses ie7 or avant for it's easy size percentage changes for viewing sites that use fixed widths.

It would be useful if Google had a 'customize this page' feature which lets you see/hide certain columns (including a column just for position, so it would keep keyword data on a single line).

Agreed on this feature request. However, I still think something is wrong here and that the default report page should allow for the entire page to fit within 1024 resolution.

Maybe one of the G folks (AWA2?) that examine postings to this forum can comment.

I get this problem if I set different keywords in an AdGroup to different bids. I have mentioned it on Webmasterworld before and AWA was going to look into it. It still looks the same at the moment.

I also use different bids but only started to have the screen view problem when they added the Video Ad option.

PaulPA,

I have not heard of any specific issues caused by the additional data columns, but if you are at the Ad Group view with video ads it will be 2 more columns of data. Some expansion of the overall table may have been made to accommodate the new data, and I'll try and track down a definitive answer.

AWA2 - Thanks but if I understand your post you believe my problem is with the video ads report area. In fact, it is with regular keyword ads reports. The Video Ad issue has to do with the option "Video Ad" that appears to the right of the ad where it reads:

+ Create New Ad: Text Ad ¦ Image Ad ¦ Local Business Ad ¦ Video Ad

I believe the addition of the Video Ad option has pushed this cell to the right which has caused the whole table to move right and makes the last two columns not viewable in 1024 without scrolling.

PaulPA,

OK, I understand the concern now. I spoke with a few of the responsible parties, and they are going to take a look at how these are being displayed and what we can do to limit the size of that 'Create New ...' table cell to keep the page at a reasonable width. No promises, but they realize it could be an issue and will see what can be done.

PaulPA,

The product management team got back to me late yesterday regarding this situation, and they will be fixing it as part of an upcoming change. The push date for the change hasn't been set yet, but it is on the roadmap.
