Difference in referrer between adword click and "regular" google click

How to report without tracking URL

Greetings,

I have adopted a great deal of adwords links in my new job and many of them have no tracking URL. I have done some optimizing and would like to distinguish "regular" google visits from adwords visits. Is there a dependable way to do this? I have gone through my logs and looked but there seem to be many variations of the referrer from Google. I AM changing all of the Adwords links to tracking URLs, but I have to do it a little at a time due to time contraints.

Thanks for any help.

bsterz,

One of the good things about Google is doesn't discriminate a paid from an unpaid, so you can aggregate your results from Google.

One of the bad things is the same thing.

Short of using tracking URL's the only thing I can suggest is to deduct the Adwords Google traffic from the control centre from the stuff that shows in whatever stats package you use, but because there are so many Google syndicated partners, it's not going to be accurate.

I'd increase the priority on your time of tracking the ads, at the moment you'll be doing the advertising blind and will definately be costing your company money.
