Accidental Click on Competitor's Ad

Is there any way to confess?

In reviewing the ads displayed for one of my clients, I accidentally clicked on the top-ranking ad which is for a competitor. It was a mouse-dragging, nervous trigger-finger problem.

Since my client and his competitors are professionals, it would be nice to tell someone not to charge the $2 or whatever for my muscle twitch. Actually, I think I nailed the same competitor a month or so ago in a similar moment of sloppiness, so he's probably out a whole $4. Guilt!

In the scheme of 100's of dollars a day in the ad budgets for competitive keywords, this is chump change. But, for local businesses, it adds up.

I'd happily visit an automated confessional and promise to go and sin no more. I can find posts here and on Google warning about clicking on competitor's ads. But I find no mechanism to beg for forgiveness.

Does one exist?

Are you being serious? Google have a system to report competitor click fraud - that will be the day :)

Ozdachs ... click one of your own ads once a month to get the twitch out. Just kidding.
