one of my adword campaign has a high ctr but no conversion. it's a bit hard to believe that out of 150 clicks there's been no conversion especially when the day before i had much less ctr but more conversionS. what's going on here?
is anyone else having the same problem; high click thru rates but very low or non existent conversions? how and wheredo you find out more about click frauds?
Basically we started out this week and made $27.00 on one day and then $96.00 the next day. In fact we made the $96 in the first half of the day and then everything just dried up and stopped dead. We haven't had a single conversion since although we are getting clickthru rates of higher than both previous days. So suddenly we are paying for lots of clicks with zero return.
This seems very strange and we have now come to a dead halt, despite adding in 4 new adgroups today as well as running the others (a total of 9 adgroups now).
anyone have any ideas?
we were on the content network but after generating far too many impressions for too few clicks (as well as reading about it on here) we switched it off.

The numbers you're speaking about don't seem particularly statistically valid. Wild flucutations occur - especially within a sample size of 150 clicks.
I would have thought it be more likely to have gone from 'fair' performance to 'better' performance that it would then either grow / stay the same or possibly reduce a little but a drop to zero when clicks are rising was the last thing I expected.

Are you sure the additional clicks are quality clicks?
Content - while adding mostly impressions - adds lower quality clicks, as well... additionally, adding new keywords without much history can be a risk - it's tough to know what performance you'll get.
But, don't panic... wait till you get statistically significant click levels before taking drastic action. It may be as simple as adding a few negative keywords.
In the first two days and first hundred clicks got 5 conversions. another 1000 clicks later this past week and have 1 conversion extra. Which doesn't pay for the 1000 clicks.
Needless to say, I refine my adgroups, run split tests for ads, make sure the products are good and the website landing pages are professional looking and do everything that everyone recommends but after the success of the first two days sales are still next to zero. I feel I've learned an awful lot these past few days, researched alot I mean and just cannot seem to convert any product I choose (and I've tested over dozen out this past week - surely they can't all be stinkers?)
Some of the CTR has been 10%! No problem getting the clicks.
I've raised the daily budgets but that hasn't worked out except to bleed more money.
Everything that HAS actually converted has only ever converted on Day 1 of the campaign. Is that significant?
I read elsewhere that someone also selling same company products had this problem and they switched out all the links to another same company account and their ads started earning again. I did this, made 1 sale and everything stopped again.
I really don't get it, especially as some of what I am doing with other products is lead affiliates where it's just a free signup and even these are not generating anything which seems most odd.
If it is the same (bad) then it is your presentation of the product.
If your organic conversion is good and Adwords bad either your in the wrong keywords/sites
or
your ad is misleading which is causing people to click but not buy.
Plus if it was like that then why generate 5 conversions in first 100 clicks and then nothing for a 1000?

Plus again I am also running lead affiliates which are for free X on signup without any catches and even these are not converting despite high CTR
I've read that any tweaking can affect the ad and that generally is you want to make any adjustments it is best to run a second adgroup with the changes.
However, when I search for an ad there it is and they are all one the first page from 2-8 position.
I've trawled through the forums as well to try and find similar issues and have read several people whose adwords accounts have just 'died' sometimes after a couple of years of success. Some 'spring back to life' after a period of days and repeat the cycle of dying again. Others seem to never come back.
There seems to be so much going on 'under the hood' that can only be guessed at or better tested through various theories...
I'm getting Google to take a look at the data patterns and am going to run a second account as a control to see if I can gather any more useful Data. If anyone has any advice please do chip in.
