Hey Google,

Can you please post your phone number so that when I am logged into my campaign I can see it if I need to call you; preferably at the bottom of the page like on Overture/Yahoo.

Much appreciated.

I Think Google Dont Publisize there support number for a reason, if it was in EVERY account, then they would be swamped with call's and there customer service level would go through the floor, like overtures has!

Actually Overture only posts the phone number to a certain level of advertiser - which is what Google should do.

touché! but i still dont think google should post there number to ANY level of advertiser, let people find it on there own! its like a test, if you pass e.g find the number you are good enough to talk to google :) lol!

Does anyone have a google support number? I have never seen it anywhere. Of course if you have a rep, I guess you dont need their support number. Wonder how much you need to spend to get a rep...

Yeah I love always having to scrawl through emails to find Google's number. Seriously Google, please post your
phone number for advertisers' - stop trying to hide :)

I taped it to my phone.

I could do that too, but Google shouldn't 'hide' from advertisers' either.

Kings on steeds,

There are many places you can find the Google Support number - My point is that THEIR website should be one of those places.

BostonSEO - that is a good point. I know they do not want the number outside the login area as prospective customers or people unable to login might call. No need to "waste" customer service time on them.

But after logging in it would be nice to actually be able to contact google witha phone number.

Finally, toddb gets what I am saying.

I get what you are saying but, i just dont agree. if you have there number write it somewhere where u can always see it, if you don't, find it and then write it somewhere you can see it. simple! or if you are realy celver, like me, you can memorize it so that you will always have it to hand.

Kings on steeds,

The point is that Google is 'hiding' their number on purpose. That doesn't send you the wrong message?

Just a few points,

Google's got my phone number.

The fundamental issues here are transparency & accountability. Does Google measure up?

Are Google apologists born from misguided loyalty or paid employment?

It isn't a very hard phone number to remember. Dial it once and you'll probably never forget it.

jam2005,

It isn't very hard for Google to post their support phone number for advertisers spending a certain monthly minimum. I don't get why people think it's my responsibility to remember their phone number like I am Rainman. I don't understand their reason for not posting it - I would like to see them post their phone number.

Unfortunately, hiding phone numbers from customers is now a common practice on the web - even - or perhaps especially - for major corporations. Google is just following the trend. :(

"hiding phone numbers from customers is now a common practice on the web"

Yes in non-customer areas, but not in secure logged in sections for paying customers it's not common. There is a huge difference.

Google UK have just mailed me giving me a phone number or UK support. Not sure if they're rolling this out worldwide or if it's when you hit a certain spend - any ideas?

i think there are 2 issues here, you need to ask yourself are you annoyed the phone number isn't there because you really cant live without this number, or you are annoyed because its google, and as such google have a responsibly to there customers?

if its the latter i think there responsibly lies in porviding the best customer service they can, it all comes down to supply and demand, if they posted there number, even to a low number of customers, they demand would increase ( and with some of you already complaining about wait times is that a good idea? ) and as such they would have to increase there supply or be forced into giving a "shabbier" customer service, which isnt an option for google, so that means more money! and google didn't make itself the Internet juggnaught it is by ploughing funds into unnecessary staff, did it?

and if the first reason is why you want the number, well get help!

i guess what i am trying to say is, with some of its customers already feeling like googles customer service is letting them down, and with the pride google takes in it the quality of service it provides, i don't that publicizing the number, even to a small group of people will aid the situation, but maybe i am wrong!

I think it is only understandable that google does not hand out phone numbers. Phone support would drive up cost and this increase in expense will find it's way ultimately to the advertiser.

We have our own rep. Must say though that communication is slow, after all he still has weekends and enjoys public holidays.

I think here is the challenge. When you are a true e-commerce company 24/7 rules apply. This does not go well with working economically and labor laws. However our revenues depend on support from google. They should address this.
