Thinking of Advertising ~ Total Newby~!

Need more traffic to site

Hi Folks;

I have a site with AdSense on it and I spent today reviewing the ads appearing on it and blocking all the bogus ones. To my surprise I found that some pretty tiny sites (cheezy) were advertising. Certainly they are smaller then mine.

That got me thinking about actually using Google to advertise my site. Does anyone know if it can be done inexpensively? Does it work?

I can make some pretty lethal ads for specific things that my site excels in but I'm wondering about the cost.

Anyway, if anyone with experience could offer up their ideas I'd appreciate it.

Google is only getting more expensive, but one way of getting cheaper clicks is to go broad because the most common words will be expensive. You could also try a different bunch of geographies other than US,UK and other top geos where the competition could be lesser.
