I had not done any big data coleection on conversions for the search network in almost 2 years. Did some month long data pulls. My conversion on the search network is 1/2 of what it is on Google. This is amazing as it was almost perfectly equal when I have checked it in the past.

This was across several products lines of mostly goods.

Time to start blocking certain sites?

I am not sure that you can block "certain" search network sites. If there is a way please share.

I believe that it became easier for a site to qualify as a "Search Partner" when so many began eschewing the Content Network.

I don't know how specific your data collection is, but I have one or two culprits that are sending me boat loads of wothless traffic. And none of it converts. Just the top one alone sends me enough worthless traffic to justify dumping the entire search network. And that would be a shame because there are several in the search network that send me my highest conversion rates.

There should be an easier way to send google feedback on these crooks. I'm trying to work with my adrep to resolve it. But if I have to dump my entire search network for just 1 or 2 bad apples, I'm going to make sure that google get's a monthly statement of the potential funds that would have been spent.

It required a bit of work but the savings I have acheived are amazing.

The exclusion feature is only on the content network. Would be nice if they added the search network to that.

were you successful at blocking some of the search network? And if so how did you do it?

No, I was not able to do that. But I was able to take marginal lines and move them to a campaign where I blocked the search network.

It is very hard to exclude sales. The volume discounts and future sales etc make it very hard to perfectly value a new customer. So I am always nervous to discontinue any source of sales but it has really made a difference.
