Will my SERP go away if I sign up for Adwords?

Hey guys,

I'm ranked on all SE between page 1-3 onall my keywords. However, I want to put some money into Adwords. If I sign up for adwords and lets say I use the word "blue widget" even though I am already ranked 20, will google take down my rank? Same question for Yahoo and MSN.

No. There are lots of companies ranked high in SERPs and prominently positioned in Adwords.

So you could be top of the serps and at the top of the adwords at the same time?

Yes you could be Dexie.

I have never seen any evidence of sponsored listings affecting natural SERP positions.
