I am about to start to manage the AdWords accounts for two subsidiaries. One has an AdWords account already, the other hasn't. So what do I do? Do I cancel the existing account and recreate the campaigns under the central account? Do I use the old accounts login and manage three different accounts? Has G a way to manage three accounts from one interface?

Open a new account and have the two tied under an MCC account. MCC = My Client Center.
It allows you to toggle between the mutiple accounts, pull reports from the two combined, manage other top-level functions - but it doesn't allow those with access to the children accounts to access the parent or other children.

I thought these were for larger SEM agencies? Can I transfer the existing account in it as well?

Well, I can't speak to the level of spend that you need to obtain one... AWA?
But, the account is not transferred, per se, it's linked so your first account should work fine.
