When I Delete a Campaign, It Sticks Around

I'm sure this is an easy answer for you gurus

Ok, sorry if this sounds pretty dumb, but whenever I delete a campaign, or ad group, it tells me it's deleted, but it is still in the list. Do these ever disappear? Or do they keep them there for a reason?

I think it keeps them so you can report on historical data.

I was going to check by running a report, but it seems the reports are down right now.

in that block of text upper left for campaigns you can select "only active ad groups". Cleans it up.
