{keyword} does not show the exact keyword?

This is something I just noticed.
If you place {keyword} in the URL and have the following keywords in the list:

cool widgets
"cool widgets"
[cool widgets]

Then a search for cool widgets stuff, which probably matches "cool widgets" has simply ...cool%2520widgets... in the URL, not ...%2522cool%2520widgets%2522... as one might expect. In other words, the quotes are not included.

So it seems there is no way to track performance of the exact match vs phrase vs broad match using that tag.

Is that true?

That would really suck cause I just started switching my campaigns from having a unique tracking url for each and every keyword to one simple URL.

AWA can you confirm this?

Use codes surrounding the {KeyWord} to obtain Match Type tracking with dynamic keyword insertion.

a. {KeyWord} for Broad Match

b. %22{KeyWord}%22 for Phrase

c. %5B{KeyWord}%5D for Exact

You have to do it for each and every keyword.

posterboy's solution simply releaves you of the need to type the entire keyword into each URL.

It would be nice to have a new {matchtype} or {keywordwithmatchtype} macro.

Yep, {matchtype} would be a good addition.
In any case, I got to give Google proprs.
I just looked at one old Overture account that's been running on autopilot for some time and I lost any urge to "expand my reach with the new product" after about two minutes.
I'm back to using only Adwords for now.

If you group by match type, it's easy. Use those codes within the AG's default URL and you're done.
