Hi, I was pondering this and would really like an answer.

1, does keyword order matter to Adwords, I have taken suitable keywords from Overture's tool and they are not ordered as people typed them in - would this matter to Adwords?

2, CPC - Leaving aside CTR - do I still pay the bid price of the person below me +1. Or do I pay exactly the anount I bid?

1. Order does not matter when using broad match. Order matters when using phrase match ("") or exact match ([]).

2. You pay the bid price of the person below you + .01, normalized for equal CTR. You may be paying more or less than the person below you. You almost never pay your actual bid price. (But never more than that.) If the person below you has a CPC of $1.00, and a CTR of 2%, if you have a CTR of 4%, you could be paying .51.

Excellent, many thanks.

One last one - can you define broad match please, does it mean for a 3 keyword search term then someone typing in 2 terms would generate an impression?

Many thanks.

In theory, all maches are "and". ALL of the words listed must be in the search. Google actually fiddles with broad matches to further broaden them out (for example, matching against plurals, even if you don't specify the plural) but that is irrelevant when comparing broad, phrase, and exact matches.

So, ALL matches are "and" - ALL of the words listed must be in the search.

For a broad match, the words can appear in any order.

For a phrase match, the words must appear in the order listed. There can be other words before or after them.

For an exact match, the search must contain exactly the same words, and in the same order. No extra words may be added to the search.
