Clicks not showing up in site stats

Where are those clicks going to?

I have a new site and am using AdWords to generate a bit of traffic. However the volume of clicks being recorded by AdWords is larger than those being logged on my site.

We're talking small numbers here - say 5-10 clicks a day being generated by AdWords. But my site stats do not show those clicks arriving at the landing page (which is the site homepage). I get the site stats from both the server log and using the Google Urchin tracking code. It's not a case of the Adwords trafic getting lost in the rest, because there isn't and "rest".

When I click on the Google Ad myself (a costly way of testing!), my site page displays OK and it does show up in the site stats.

So what gives? How can a click register on Adwords but not trigger the site stats? Could the clicks be going astray? Could they be phantom clicks being recordrd by Adwords but not actually taking place?

I have a similar situation here and I understand you must feel very frustrated. Adwords stats shows hundreds of clicks but my logs just a few. I really doubt those in adwords stats be real 100%.
If you put in the ad url a?source=adwords you can easily notice in your logs (perhaps using a software to analyze stats) those real clicks originated from adwords.

The problem is Adwords claim always more that those you can track (at least that's my case)

In the other hand I started to receive ridiculous high amounts of clicks, obviously faked. In last month got more clicks than 1 whole year year in past.
Most of these are 0:00 lenght.
I reported the issue and expect they give me the money back for those fraudulent clics.

I guess the problem is worst if you pick content network inclusion. Just my 2 cents.
