I personally own a free image hosting site with options to upgrade to a paid account with more space.
I get new members for almost everyone that clicks on my ads. I would estimate the new members per click percentage to be somewhere around 70-80%.
My problem is that I'm paying about 50 cents per click right now. So on some days I'm paying something like $1.00 per free user. (Still nobody on the pay accounts yet)
I am making a TINY bit on adsense right now. Maybe 20 cents per day from this site if I'm lucky. My paid plans are for 2.99 and 4.99 per month.
Do you guys see logic in me paying sometimes $1.00 per new user? Or might there be a more cost-effective way for me to do this? I'm a big fan of paying for advertising because I think to get ahead in the internet world in any kind of speed you will need at least a little money.
Does anyone have any tips or advice which would be useful in my situation?
I had just set my default max bid to 50 cents per click, but while searching through my keywords, many of the averages are 20-30 cents per click. So I went in and put my bid at about 5 cents higher than what the stated average is for each individual click. This way I'm not bidding 50 cents for a click when the average is only 21 cents. I've noticed if you bid 75 cents per click, the actual cost will come pretty close to that. Even if the Average cost per click is half that.
I guess my biggest question is: Is there another Pay Per click service similar to google that charges less per click that I could score about 15 clicks/day out of?
