I am new to this forum and new to the concept of Google Adword.
I have a question I was wondering if I could get an answer for?
Assuming I am selling Dell computers (assuming dell is a no name brand)
If I enter in the keyword: DELL COMPUTER
Now since this is not in "" or [], would the CPC greatly increase because I have the word "computer" in there?
What if I have another separte keywork for
computer
Which one would be more expansive? Dell Computer or just computer? If someone search me through "Dell Computer" and click on the link, which one would google charge me for? Computer or Dell computer?
Any good thread for this too?
Thanks!
The CPC, generally (except in the case of "virgin" keywords) is determined by what your competitors are bidding and how many competitors you have.
Look at what your competitors are advertising on your keywords to get an idea of whether a keyword will be expensive or not. Why do I say "what your competitors are advertising", not "what you are advertising"? Others may be using the same keywords to advertise different products. If you are advertising mouse pads, it may not be cost-effective for you to advertise on the same keywords that somebody else is using to advertise computers.
Computers are going to be more expensive than pencils.
It's not because the word "computers" is in there. It's because advertisers are bidding on keywords to advertise a costly product.
There are many, many variables, and, really, the only way to find out is to experiment. Keep your budget low until you develop a feel for it.
Actually, broad-match for "computer" is unlikely to be very costly, but at the same time, isn't likely to perform well for you. It's just way to broad to be very useful.
Dell Computers
This will show up to anyone who search for "computers" for any kind. And if my bid is high enough, say $10 per click, won't anyone searching for HP computers, gateway computers, custom computers see my ad and click on it? Even if its not relevent?
Just wondering.. thanks!
