destination url - delay?

I hope this is a simple one... I've set up an AdWords account successfully and the ads are appearing OK.

However, the landing page I've specified (having checked for typos) is not working - the link in the ad is going to the default home page of the domain instead.

Is there a delay in the destination URL being implemented?

Never have delay in my case.

nope. double check that you haven't used a weird character or something that is either cutting off part of the link, or directing the link to the .htaccess

As usual, it was my mistake. I had a test AdWords account set up as well as one I was preparing for the client to use... got mixed up over which one I was editing... <blush>
