I have a question about the maximum number of keywords allowed.
I know that an ad group has a limit of 2000 keywords. But is there a limit on the total number of keywords in a campaign?
I seem to have hit a keyword limit for a campaign. Can I split the campaign into two so that I can run more keywords?
Maybe there is also a maximum number of keywords for an account?
Thanks.
1,000,000 keywords in an account
25 "active" campaigns in an account
100 "active" ad-groups in an account
but as i said your keywords maybe limited on new account, i think to just 100,000 but i can confirm that!
hope this help.

I think our account may have a limit around the 100k you mention. But the account has been active and spending for quite a while.
Maybe we added too many keywords in one go?
How do you increase the limit? Do we need to contact support or will they raise the bar after reviewing our account / new keywords?
Regards
Simon
thegreatpretender, well you can have 2,500 ad-groups, i shouldnt think you will haveing that many products, but if you do, get an mcc and link 5 or six accounts together, our biggest client here now have 25 account and by the end of this month he will havce close to 50! that is 125,000 adgroups and 5,000 campaigns and a total of 50,000,000 keywords!
If a limit is hit, one may always request for the limit to be raised. Very briefly, the folks who do the review will be looking for accounts which have used their limit of keywords effectively, and which are not full of 'dead wood'.
It's pretty early in the year (and Happy New Year to you all!) for me to jump on my well-known keyword soapbox, so I'll just say that IMO 100 highly targeted keywords are more valuable than 10,000 random ones. And I'll leave it at that. ;)

I was actually aiming to address the earlier question from Simon_Says about the max number of keywords per account - since it is not the same 'fixed' amount for all accounts.
Plus I had to get my usual plug for "quality vs. quantity" in there. ;)
Quality and quantity? Fine by me!

My question then is won't this lead to account termination? I'll try very hard not to have anything that would duplicate ads, but with enough ads (and broad matching), it is quite possible to have it happen. I want to be above board and let google know that I'm not trying to spam the system, but with multiple accounts, how can you make sure google knows you are being honest?
we use our api to run through all the account which are linked in a mcc and remove add duplicates, a bit like G's find keyword tool but over accounts not campaigns!
hope this helps!
