Adwords conversion tracking--only tracks on an immediate purchase?

Doesn't seem to be working if they buy a few days later

The tracking seems to work OK when someone buys directly after clicking on the AW ad.

But I've noticed that if I get someone on an autoresponder and they come back later and buy, it does not seem to be tracked at all.

I've always assumed that AW tracks by a cookie but maybe that's not correct? If they do use cookies then yes theoretically clients could be deleting their cookies but the odds/stats are against that.

Maybe the conversions are only tracked by JS on a direct click>buy transaction and not a later transaction?

Anyone have any info on this?

Conversions are tracked on that single visit only--- to see return visit conversions that occur during the lifespan of the cookie (I believe it is 30 days), run a report and look at Transactions, this number should be what you are really looking for.

Thanks arinick.

So what you're saying is that conversions are same visit sales and transactions are sales made after the first visit?
