Anyone notice that many of the Large rectangle Adsense ads are now only showing 2 ads?

This is pretty much everywhere starting on 12/29....

Anyone notice a drop in impressions on adwords now?

I am seeing no drop but then I don't advertise in the content network. I also removed myself from the search partner network after it's fraud exploded in recent weeks. Maybe other advertisers got wise to this after recent press exposure and dropped out. I can only hope that's the case so that Google will be forced to clean it up.

Can you point me to information on recent fraud in the Search Partner Network?

I haven't seen anything about this.

There's something over at Search Engine Watch about it or just do a search for "adsense for domains" and you'll find some good stuff.

After complaining to Google about some MFA sites I had found and then doing it again only sterner I finally received an email mentioning this program which led me to investigate it further. It was then that I discovered that I was wasting about 50% of my advertising money. Since ditching the search partner part of AdWords my traffic is down a little but my profits doubled.

Google should be ashamed of itself for creating a system to defraud publishers with a special brand of MFA site.

Are you talking about the Content network or Search Partners?

Obviosly there is a difference. Most of the MFA sites are on the Content network.... thats why I ask....

Now, I know there are those here (on another forum, hehe) who will disagree with me, but...

Domain parkers are the cockroaches of the Internet.

They serve no useful purpose. They clog the domain system with several X the number of domain names that are actually being used for legitimate purposes. And many get their domains through shady dealings and privileged position. ("test parking", etc.)

It's big money for Google, though. I wonder if Google has the guts to stand up to them?

Wonder if we could get enough people to shut off search network on the same day to send a message to Google?

Shut it off and you'll save money. Check your logs out for the garbage coming from the search partners and you won't be pleased.

Hi,

Though I find the domain-parking mechanism distasteful (even though I still have a few wharehoused domains myself from dot-com days), and I do often see (lots of) garbage clicks through it, I find that this traffic sometimes converts well and gives me the volume that I need in otherwise somewhat specialised campaigns.

If G would give me the ability to turn different parts of the system (eg Content and Search networks) off at particular times of the day (when cetrain low-life is still a-bed!), or when (or from whom) G notes that I get my lowest conversion rates, then I'm sure that the overall performance could be improved.

Rgds

Damon

I love it when people pull out of the content network because I am doing great with it, and all of you guys pulling out means my ads move up. Yay for me!
